In October, during the Florida Redevelopment Association (FRA) Annual Conference, the City of St. Augustine Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) was awarded the FRA Roy F. Kenzie Award for Planning Studies for its “West City CRA Finding of Necessity Study: Establishing a CRA”.
Jaime D. Perkins, Neighborhood Services and CRA Manager, accepted the award alongside CRA Staff and the consultant who assisted in preparing the study. “Establishing a CRA is not an easy task. There is a great amount of effort related to public engagement, data collection, field studies, and meeting the state’s compliance requirements,” Perkins said.  “I am extremely honored that the City and CRA were recognized by the FRA for the work that we do to contribute to making our communities better.”
There are 13 juried award categories, and each year Community Redevelopment Areas/Agencies throughout Florida submit an entry in hopes of being selected as an innovative and effective project or program.
The award is proudly on display in the lobby of the Neighborhood Services and CRA Division office in City Hall.
