On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the City of St Augustine’s Community Redevelopment Agency hosted a fun and interactive grand re-opening event at the newly reconstructed Eddie Vickers Basketball and Pickleball Courts. There was also a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the City of St. Augustine at the newly renovated Willie Galimore Community Center.
The activities at the sports courts began at 4:00pm and included an inaugural pickleball serve by Mayor Nancy Sikes-Kline and Commissioner Jim Springfield made the first jump-shot.
Residents signed up to play friendly mini-basketball and pickleball game sessions against City staff.
